Amanda (Instructor)

I am 44 years old and have been teaching Aerial Hoop since 2013 and practicing pole since 2010. As the years have progressed I have acquired many new Circus skills and love being able to pass these skills to my students, such as Aerial Cube, Trapeze and Hammock. I am a collector of all things aerial and also have a lollipop, flying pole and aerial rope as part of my own personal training collection. I particularly enjoy hosting workshops at other studios, performing at various events, organising and taking part in aerial photoshoots and also like to enjoy aerial outdoors with my 7mtr aerial tripod.

I’m 28 and have been coming to CirqueFit for just over a year. I’ve recently started again after taking time off to have a baby. I love having some time to focus on myself and learn new skills. Looking back at photos and seeing how much I’m progressing is so rewarding. As well as becoming stronger physically I also find that attending classes has improved my anxiety hugely too.

I started doing aerial 2.5 years ago, after having 2 babies, and was massively out of shape. Hoop is now my favourite bit of the week! I’ve made some great friends, everyone is so supportive and encouraging, we celebrate everyone’s achievements and help each other to achieve our goals. I’m constantly amazed by the things I actually manage to achieve, and am the strongest and fittest I think I’ve ever been.

I’m 23 years old. I’ve been doing aerial for just over two years now and had my first ever class at CirqueFit. My favourite piece of apparatus is the hammock as I love doing drops and trying fun routines, while the hoop is perfect for building strength and creating pretty moves. Aerial has pushed me out of my comfort zone making me stronger, confident and flexible. Everybody in the class is approachable which makes it even more enjoyable!

I am 25 years old and have been doing aerial one and a half years, my favourite apparatus is definitely the hoop. The biggest improvements I have seen since starting is in physical strength and self confidence. It is so rewarding when you have worked towards something and finally achieve it. I would recommend anyone to try aerial at least once, regardless of fitness level or age. Everyone is so supportive and you really feel like you’ve joined one big family.

Robyn - Student

I’m Robyn, 30, and by day I work as a therapist for young people with mental health difficulties and by night an aerial hobbyist! I started my aerial journey with pole 3 1/2 years ago, then found my way to hoop classes which I fell in love with instantly! My favourite thing about hoop is that I’m constantly surprised by my body’s capabilities and its wonderful to see and feel improvements! I’ve never enjoyed, looked forward to and stuck to any kind of fitness quite like this before!

I am 67 years old and recently started aerial hoop classes with Amanda. I have attended gym and fitness classes for 10 years and also gained a blackbelt in Jujitsu. I had to give this up as I damaged my neck. I found out about CirqueFit from my daughter in law at Cirquefit N.I. In Belfast. I didn’t think Amanda would let me join her classes due to my age! I joined in March and can honestly say that it is amazing. The help and support from everyone is fantastic. I have progressed and absolutely love it. I don’t think I will be joining Cirque du Soleil but have come a lot further than I ever thought possible.

I am 38 and started doing aerial hoop at CirqueFit after many years of doing pole fitness and Ive now been doing it about 3 years. I love doing hoop, it helps me maintain upper body strength and the sense of achievement is great. Amanda is a fantastic teacher and I feel lucky to be part of the gang.

Emma - Student

I am 26 years old and have been doing aerial for about 5 years. I love coming to class, it feels more like a community than a class. Everyone has they own unique styles and strengths and we are constantly learning and bettering each other.

I am 18 years old and have been doing aerial for a couple of years. My favourite piece of equipment is the Aerial Hammock. I love all the possibilities it offers and the excitement of the drops and rolls.
I love class, its not just about the skills and the fitness – we also laugh a lot too!!

Debbie - Student

Im age 50 and have been doing aerial hoop for 4 years. Aerial hoop is something Me and my daughter like to do together. It keeps us both fit, really strong and is so much fun. It brings out our competitive streak to see who can make the shapes the prettiest I recently did a hoop performance for my local charity that I was really proud of, which is completely out of character for me. The classes are friendly, supportive and a really good laugh
