The Aerial Cube. It’s not really big (yet) in the UK so unlike Pole and Hoop, there aren’t widely recognised names for moves. When I purchased the cube, I also got some great Instructor demonstration videos from Pole and Aerial, which was awesome as along with learning how to instruct the moves, I learned the names of them.
But as we are progressing we are creating new moves and shapes every week.
I like this one that I did whilst training with Tanya Audas last week, but I’m not sure what to call it?
We got into it simply from coming through the inside of the cube from an outside diamond hocks hang.
There is probably a name for it somewhere, it probably varies from aerialist to aerialist, country to country.
Its been a while since the aerial rope has been out so we used it for strength and conditioning in this weeks aerial hoop and aerial cube class. And for those who were a little more advanced, they tried some inverted aerial rope moves.
I think we will be seeing more of the aerial rope for strength and conditioning, it won’t harm everyone to build up strength having a climb every week!
We also played with a new move on the aerial cube. From an outside diamond hocks hang we manoeuvred (some of us easier than others ha!) through the cube to push up into a lovely bendy move.
Here are just a few of the photos from aerial class:
I am so proud of Sian, she was a total beginner student of mine for a few month last year at the studio I used to work at, then had a massive break and has only been back since May – so really hasn’t been doing aerial for long.
It takes balls to get up in front of an audience, especially one with lots of other aerialists in it! But she SMASHED it and looked amazing! \
Anyway enough about us….
Thank you to each and every one of you who attended today. We raised a whopping £260 for Cathy Wilson s amazing and inspirational adventure
<- click her name! Need I say more!
We wish her all the luck in the world. She sent her thanks on Facebook and said the support has been truly overwhelming, |

Aerial Hoop Class Aerial Cube Class Leyland Preston on a Sunny Day
Well, what beautiful weather we are having at the moment! Its not often we have weather like this so this Sunday we decided to let some of our equipment go beyond the roller shutter doors!
What can I say! WOW! What an enjoyable class! We had two A Frames for aerial hoop outside the doors next to the aerial cube which was rigged just inside the doors offering shade for if the heat was a bit too much to train in.
I came prepared with lots of sun tan protection cream and water and the students had lots of fun fun fun!
The photos looked awesome!
From the 9th July we are offering two classes on a Sunday as our one existing class was just getting that little bit too busy.
So we offer, from 9th July, 3pm till 4pm aerial hoop and aerial cube class and 4.10pm till 5.10pm aerial hoop and aerial cube class.

Why not give it a try?!
In the meantime, here are a few photos from this weekends class.
So yesterday I borrowed one of my poor guinea pig students to train working on private 1-2-1 ‘on the bar’ double tuition with me!
I am loving the beauty of the mirrored moves that can be created with the cube. The first part of this video was planned, the second part was just freestyle as we came up with the last moves on the spot just as we were about to finish.
Unfortunately we had already lowered the cube because we had been practicing top bar moves in-between, so Sian ended up eating grass in the final single toe hang haha!
Sian was specifically helping me train with one-on-one sync in an ‘on the bar’ talk through tuition. I think you will agree it worked very well. I look forward to more double on the bar tuition.
If you would like a private aerial hoop or cube class at CrossFit in Leyland, in my training room at home, outdoors depending on weather or in your own home (dependant on ceiling height), please do not hesitate to ask.
Due to obvious reasons, one-on-one ‘on the bar’ cube double tuition with me is not for beginners and can only be carried out with students I have taught for long enough to thoroughly know their capabilities!
